This was an Oprah pick from a while back that I just started to listen to this weekend in the car (nice pick Dr. Flashback!) when I came across a wild Slipknot of all "songs". What I usually relate to,right or wrong, as a 2 or 2 1/2 minute segue between Help and Franklins,
this bad boy runs like 12 minutes. There's times when they all seem to be strolling around the park playing whatever, then they all seem to run to the same park bench- feverish guitars, drums, Phil. The quality of that torrent that was mentioned is fabulous. If you haven't downloaded this fine show (fun setlist too)or listened, I strongly encourage it. By the way, Dr. Flashback or someone keeping score, can you please at your leisure add a running list of previous selections of the Oprah Files! I think I and probably others now or in the future, may want to catch up on the ones we missed. Thanks for your efforts Dr.!

JodyC: I hope you had a great day for yourself! - I absolutely love that "Slipknot!" - it is so unusual I don't even think of it as "Slipknot!" -- Only their 7th show after returning from 18-month sabbatical.
I create playlists with "Playin', " "Dark Star," and that "Slipknot!" arranged together in whatever order works depending upon the Playin and Dark Star version and try to segue it into a Wharf Rat == the breathtaking music overcomes the hiccups that result from my lack of mixing abilities. I've never heard another "Slipknot!" even comparable to it.....now I gotta go put it on. Thanks alot for the inspiration, - AshesRising

mcglone: Great suggestion! Thank you - different than the spacey Beacon but definitely has its own personality that sets it apart from other versions. The funky intro to "Help on the Way" seems to set the tone for all that follows.
It appears that they were experimenting alot around that time with the placement of the "Help>Slip>Franklin's" trio --- any thoughts on Oct. 9, second set - Dicks Pick #33 - I thought I had heard it and thought that it fell short, but I must be mistaken as the reviews on dead.net say it's an awesome set. - Do you know anything about it? Thanks again, - Ashes

Crazy Fingers, Cosmic, Help->Slipknot!-> Franklins! yes! So funny, wife and I listened to THAT last weekend too! Just the last segment. Had listened 2 or 3 weeks ago and was blown away. Just got the disks from Ian and played the shn version. So freakin cool that is. I really don't have an accurate description as to why it IS so special. But, I think most would agree Disk 3 of that show is as good as it gets...

Hey Flow, I'm not able to download anything until I upgrade my computer which is months away. If you want to send me that Beacon show I'll reimburse you with something. Or I could send you something first. 80/11/29 for instance or perhaps felt Forum '71's. I have a passle of those.

Hi Syd - That sounds like a trade to me! Of the Felt Forum shows, I have just 12/7/71. The remainder are on my list to DL. AND, I love '71. Did you get my email?

I love this show so much. I must share. Somebody needs this right? RRRRIIIIGGGGHHHHHTTTT?????

andy@gemut.com

Got it from McGlone. Who's next?

This Slipknot! literally stopped me in my tracks! You can see from the posts in this thread that it is indeed remarkable. Can't think of any other song which has 1 version which stands SOOOO tall against all versions played. How can this NOT be the best Slip!?? Anyone...
